Ball Valves
Ball valves can be used for on and off service, especially when full shut off is necessary. They are also used for throttling. Ball valves feature a low valve profile. Ball valves are quick opening, meaning there is only a 90° rotation from open to fully closed. The handle position of ball valves can act as a visual indication of whether valve is open or closed. Full port ball valves do not resist flow. Ball valves are generally used for their versatility and are easy to repair and maintain.
Common types of Ball valves:
- Full port – offers no flow restriction
- Standard port – offers small amount of flow restriction
- Reduced port – offers significant flow restriction
